Info:

The Slug ID is a four-digit number unique to each report. Knowing this unique number will help you search for a specific report and/or the data associated with a report much easier. The Slug Name contains a series of letters and numbers.

For text reports, the letters in the Slug Name usually represent a two-digit code for the originating office (i.e. NW_GR### represents a grain report released from Des Moines, IA). If the report is originally released in a PDF format, the Slug Name will be a combination of alpha charters (Ex. Monthly Feeder Lamb Inventory Summary (LSMCOLAMBFI)). Upon the transition to releasing reports through the MARS system, all reports have been assigned a four-digit Slug ID.

There are several ways to find a report Slug ID.  Below we will provide the steps for each option.

Option 1:

1.  If you know the specific URL for a report, it is as simple as finding the last four digits in the URL address.

2.  On the bottom of each page of a report you will find a “footer”.  This footer contains the source information and links to the My Market News website and to the report’s “Landing Page”.  Notice below the link to the “Landing Page” contains the four-digit Slug ID.
