This report is a weekly feeder pig report containing direct trades of early weaned (10-12 lb) and feeder pigs (40 lb). Price information is released by USDA’s Livestock, Poultry, and Grain Market News Division under the Voluntary Price Reporting authority of USDA’s Agriculture Marketing Service. This report is a weighted average report.

Report Synopsis:

Price information is collected remotely through phone communication and email correspondences with swine dealers, buyers, and producers. Contact visits are made periodically to verify price information and quality assessment is accurate, unbiased and relevant to the report. Dual party verification is used to verify trades, and reporters reserve the right to exclude any trades that cannot be verified. Reporters also reserve the right to exclude insignificant data sets (outliers) that are not consistent with the bulk of the trade. To ensure accuracy of these reports, reporters are recertified every two years.
