SJ_GR851 St. Joseph, MO Fri Oct 06, 2017 USDA-MO Dept of Ag Market News WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW Compared to last week, wheat was lower, corn traded mixed and soybeans were mostly higher. Recent weather forecasts have some analysts concerned that rains throughout the Midwest may slow harvest this coming week. Weekly export sales for wheat showed a total of 18.1 million bushels for the 2017-2018 marketing year, higher than the week prior. These numbers could be viewed as bullish for wheat. Export sales of corn showed a total of 32 million bushels for the 2017- 2018 marketing year also higher than the prior week. These numbers can be viewed as bullish for corn. Weekly export sales of soybeans showed a total of 37.3 million bushels for the 2017-2018 marketing year much lower than expected and also lower than the previous week. These numbers can be viewed as bearish for soybeans. Wheat was mixed, mostly 24 cents lower. Corn was mixed, mostly 3 cents lower to 7 cents higher. Sorghum was 5 to 6 cents lower. Soybeans were 8 to 20 cents higher. WHEAT: Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 18 3/4 to 28 3/4 cents lower from 4.44 1/4-5.54 1/4 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Soft Red winter rail bid was not quoted. St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red Winter terminal bid was 25 to 34 cents lower from 4.00-4.11 per bushel. Minneapolis and Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was 24 1/2 to 29 1/2 cents lower from 7.10 1/2-7.15 1/2 per bushel. Portland US Soft White wheat rail was 9 1/4 cents lower to 3 cents higher from 5.15 3/4-5.45 per bushel. CORN: Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was not quoted. Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 5 to 7 cents lower from 3.09 1/2-3.11 1/2 per bushel. Omaha US No 2 Yellow Corn was 3 cents lower from 3.08-3.10 per bushel. Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 3 cents lower to 7 cents higher from 3.14 1/2-3.39 1/2 per bushel. Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 3 to 8 cents lower from 3.19 1/2-3.27 1/2 per bushel. Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow corn rail was 4 cents higher at 2.67 1/2 per bushel. OATS AND BARLEY: US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20 day was 1/4 to 2 1/4 cents lower from 2.81 1/4-3.07 1/4 per bushel. US No 3 or better rail malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis was not available. Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges-export was not available. SORGHUM: US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 5 cents lower at 5.35 per cwt. Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the farmer, fob elevator) was 6 cents lower from 5.71-6.23 per cwt. OILSEEDS: Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans was 20 3/4 cents higher at 8.87 1/4 per bushel. Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 1 cent lower to 18 3/4 cents higher from 9.28 1/4-9.43 1/4 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Yellow truck soybeans were 8 3/4 cents higher at 9.23 1/4 per bushel. Illinois 48 percent soybean meal, processor rail bid was 5.40 higher from 316.90-318.90 per ton. Central Illinois Crude Soybean oil processor bid was 0.41 points higher from 30.50-32.75 cents per pound.
