APPALACHIAN DISTRICT (MD, PA, VA, WV) APPLES, PROCESSED 

2017 SEASON 

Trading very active. Prices steady. Canner U.S. One f.o.b. packing house 
or receiving station per cwt includes contract prices regular and premium 
hard varieties 2 3/4 inch up $11.50-14.50 mostly 12.00-13.00 few $10.50; 
2 1/2 inch-2 3/4 inch $9.50-11.50 few $8.50. Juice stock from tree picked 
and packinghouse sorts various varieties per cwt U.S. Cider grade 
includes contracts $8.00-11.00 mostly 8.00-10.00. Bins are tight as 
harvest is at peak. Romes, Yorks, and a few Fuji?s harvest has started, 
but picking delayed due to much needed rain showers from remnants of 
Hurricane Nate. Quality variable as a few and isolated orchards received 
hail damage from thunderstorms several weeks ago.
