Broiler/Fryer:  Daily National Broiler Market at-a-Glance


Whole broiler/fryer prices are steady to weak for larger sizes, but smaller 
weights are steady to firm.  Offerings are light to moderate and often slow 
to clear.  Retail demand is slow to moderate with reports of fires in northern 
California affecting buyer interest.  Food service demand is mixed, mostly 
moderate.  Floor stocks are in balance.  Market activity is slow to moderate.
In the parts structure, prices are weak for tenders and thigh meat, and steady 
to weak for all other parts.  Offerings are moderate to heavy with tenders and 
thigh meat frequently discounted.  Market activity for parts is slow to 
moderate.  In production areas, live supplies are mixed at mostly desirable 
weights.
