Broiler/Fryer:  Daily National Broiler Market at-a-Glance


Whole broiler/fryer prices are fairly steady to spots weak on  
three pound and up birds. Supplies of 3 lb. and heavier sizes 
are moderate to heavy while under 3 lb. sizes are light to 
moderate. The industry is wiping its brow after the passing, 
without much damage of Hurricane Nate. Demand into retail
channels is light to moderate. Food service demand is light to
moderate. Floor stocks are generally balanced to heavier than
desired at times. Market activity is slow to moderate . In the 
parts structure, jumbo wings and breast items are weak to lower,
small wings are steady and dark meat is steady at best to weak.  
offerings of wings and dark meat cuts are moderate to heavy; tenders,
bone in and boneless skinless breasts are available and attempting 
to establish a floor. Market activity for parts is slow to moderate.
In production areas, live supplies are mixed at mostly desirable weights.
