AM_LS165 Amarillo, TX Fri Oct 6, 2017 USDA-TX- Dept of Ag Market New Texas Direct Feeder Cattle Report Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 10/06/2017 Receipts: 17,500 Last Week: 27,300 Year Ago: 21,600 Compared to last week: Current FOB sales of steers and heifers sold steady to 4.00 lower. Trade activity was moderate on moderate to good demand. The panhandle received several inches of rainfall throughout the week hampering local cattle movement. Supply consisted of 66 percent steers and 34 percent heifers. Approximately 91 percent of the offerings weighed over 600 lbs. Prices based on net weights FOB after a 3 percent shrink or equivalent and 9-15 cent slide on calves and 5-12 cent slide on yearlings from base weights. Delivered prices include freight, commissions and other expenses. Current sales are up to 14 days delivery.
