LG_LS140 Frankfort, KY Mon Oct 2, 2017 USDA-KY Dept of Ag Market News Lexington Auction Weighted Average Report for 10/02/2017 Receipts: 1239 Last Week: 1168 Compared to last Monday weaned and thin-fleshed feeder steers sold firm; fleshy un- weaned offerings sold weak. Body condition affecting prices more than quality with thin-fleshed and weaned calves in highest demand. Middleweight heifers sold 2.00 to 4.00 lower with moderate demand. Good demand for yearling steers and good quality heavy heifers guaranteed open. Quality was pain through good. Slaughter cows sold 1.00 lower with light demand and slaughter bulls sold steady with light demand. 30 replacement cattle, 101 slaughter cattle, and 1108 feeder cattle. Today's supply included 38.9 percent that weighed over 600 lbs. 35.1 percent steers and 21.7 percent bull calves and 32.2 percent heifers. 84 slaughter cows with 93 percent going to slaughter. 17 head of slaughter bulls with 100 percent going to slaughter.
