SF_LS769 Sioux Falls, SD Mon Oct 16, 2017 USDA-SD Dept of Ag Market News Sioux Falls Regional - Worthing, SD Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 10/16/2017 Receipts: 1761 Last Week: 3407 Year Ago: 2546 Compared to last week: Steer and heifer calves were too lightly tested today to provide a good comparison. Feeder steers sold mostly steady to 4.00 higher, heifers steady to 3.00 higher. Demand moderate to good for both calves and yearlings. Flesh condition varied, however most calves and yearlings were carrying moderate to moderate flesh condtion. Buyer attendence was lighter than last week, as many farmer-feeders are busy trying to get corn and soybean harvest accomplished while the dry weather holds. Slaughter cows sold unevenly steady compared to last Wednesday's test, bulls 1.00 higher. Feeder cattle offering was 55 percent steers, 45 percent heifers; 86 percent weighing over 600 lbs. Receipts were 94 percent feeder cattle, balance slaughter cows and bulls. Sale next Monday October 23rd, at 10:00 am.
