Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 10/19/2017

Compared to Tuesday:  steers calves 450 to 550 lbs mostly steady with
instances 3.00 higher on 500 to 550 lbs, 550 to 700 lbs 2.00 to 5.00 
lower except 600 to 650 mostly steady.  Heifer calves 450 to 500 
lbs and 601 to 650 lbs 3.00 to 5.00 lower, 501 to 600 lbs mostly 
steady with instances 5.00 higher on 550 to 600 lbs.  Demand moderate
to good for today's calf offering with best demand seen for reputation
cattle offered in full loads.  Many packages and loads of attractive 
quality steers and heifers available, all off the cow and fully 
preconditioned.  Mostly moderate flesh with some moderate plus at 
times.  A moderate to active market with plenty of buyers, farmer 
feeders, and bull breeders in attendance.  Steers made up 60 
percent of the feeder supply, heifers 40 percent, 27 percent over 600
lbs.  Two feeder cattle sales again next week; Tuesday, October 24 
feeder cattle sale featuring Red Angus calves, and Thursday, 
October 26.
