Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 10/05/2017

Compared to last week:  steer calves 400 to 650 lbs 4.00 to 9.00 
higher.  Heifer calves 400 to 550 lbs 6.00 to 7.00 higher.  Good to 
very good demand for many packages and loads which made up today's 
calf offering.  Mostly attractive quality on the calves with most 
of these in light to moderate flesh.  All were off the cow today 
and the majority had full preconditioning.  Many of the calves 
offered today sold drug free although no premium was seen.  A handful
of yearlings sold with good demand.  Steers made up 58 percent of 
the feeder supply, 42 percent heifers, 12 percent over 600 lbs.  Next
feeder cattle sale is next Tuesday, October 10, starting at 9 am.
