Yearling heifers not well compared. Steer calves 450 to 650 mostly steady except 500 to 550 lbs not well tested last week. Heifer calves 450 to 550 lbs mostly steady, 550 to 600 lbs 3.00 to 5.00 lower. Good demand for several strings, loads, and packages which made up today's yearling offering. Yearlings coming both off grass and out of feedyards in flesh ranging from light to moderate plus. Good demand for today's calf offering of many pakcages and a few loads. Calves had various preconditioning, from full shots to none. Several packages of weaned calves offered today, weaned from 21 to 90 days. Flesh on the calves mostly moderate to moderate plus. An active market with a few farmer feeders attending as well as the regular buyers. Harvest is in full swing with bean harvest wrapping up and corn just getting a good start. Steers made up 67 percent of the feeder supply, 33 percent heifers, 60 percent over 600 lbs. Next feeder cattle sale is next Wednesday, October 24.
