Best test on yearling heifers 800 to 900 lbs 6.00 to 10.00 higher. Other weight classes of yearlings not well compared. Best test on steer calves 550 to 600 lbs and 650 to 700 lbs steady to 3.00 higher, best test on heifer calves 400 to 500 lbs 4.00 to 6.00 lower, other weight classes of calves not well compared. Good to very good demand for strings, loads, and packages in today's yearling offering. Flesh condition and quality more attractive this week than last week on yearlings; many of today's yearlings off grass in light to moderate flesh. Good to very good demand for the calf offering which consisted of several loads and many packages. Most calves had preconditioning, calves with only a 7 way shot were discounted at times. Mostly moderate flesh overall on the calves. An active market for the offering with many buyers and consignors in attendance for this anniversary sale. Steers made up 60 percent of the feeder cattle supply, heifers 40 percent, 68 percent over 600 lbs. Next feeder cattle sale is next Wednesday, October 18.
