MG_LS144 Montgomery, AL Tue Oct 17 2017 USDA-AL Dept of Ag Market News Alabama Auctions Daily Summary Alabama Livestock auctions that were held on Monday Oct 16, 2017 Cattle Receipts: 5,131 Last week: 2,745 Last Year: 3,955 Compared to one week ago: Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to 2.00 higher. All feeder classes sold mostly steady to 2.00 higher. Trade active with good demand on feeders. Replacement cows and pairs sold mostly steady. Slaughter cows made up 11 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 2 percent, replacement and pairs 9 percent, and feeders 78 percent. The feeder supply included 15 percent steers, 54 percent heifers, and 31 percent bulls. Near 13 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
