IS_LS135 Indianapolis, IN Thu Oct 5, 2017 USDA-IN Dept of Ag Market News Stoney Pike Livestock Auction, Logansport, IN Weighted Average Report for 10/05/2017 Receipts: 439 Last Week: 236 Year Ago: N/A Compared to last week slaughter steers and heifers were 2.00 to 4.00 higher from the previous week with a good offering of high quality slaughter steers and heifers. Slaughter breaker cows were significantly higher with boner and lean cows trading mostly steady. Feeder cattle were trending higher with a good offering of fancy type feeders but with a light offering last week it is hard to get a good comparison. Feeder cattle consisted of 33% over 600 lbs. Slaughter cattle consisted of 21% steers, 20% heifers, 22% Holsteins, 9% cows, and 0% bulls. ***This report reflects the majority of cattle sold with a USDA grade, weight, and sex.
