IS_LS132 Indianapolis, IN Tue Oct 3, 2017 USDA-IN Dept of Ag Market News Indianapolis Stockyard, Rockville, IN Weighted Average Report for 10/03/2017 Receipts: 286 Last Week: 203 Year Ago: 272 Compared to last week slaughter steers and heifers were steady to 3.00 higher with a good offering and active bidding on slaughter steers. Slaughter cows and bulls with the bulk of the comparisons unchanged with a few minor exceptions of higher/lower. Feeder cattle were significantly higher with very good demand for fancy type feeders. Feeder cattle consisted of 43% over 600 lbs. Slaughter cattle consisted of 35% steers, 14% heifers, 5% Holsteins, 24% cows, and 2% bulls. ***This report reflects the majority of cattle sold with a USDA grade, weight, and sex.
