CO_LS752 Columbia, SC Tue Oct 17, 2017 USDA-SC Dept of Ag Market News Chester Livestock Exchange, Chester, SC Weighted Average Report for Tuesday Oct 17, 2017 Cattle Receipts: 331 Last week: 275 Last year: 422 Compared to last week feeder steers and feeder bulls 3.00 higher, feeder heifers 2.00 lower, slaughter cows mostly steady, slaughter bulls too few to trend. Moderate offering of average quality cattle with active buyer participation. Light demand for fleshy and full cattle. Slaughter cows made up 9 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 1 percent, replacement cows 5 percent, other cows 2 percent, and feeders 83 percent. The feeder supply included 21 percent steers, 34 percent heifers, and 45 percent bulls.
