AM_LS750 Amarillo, TX Tue Oct 10, 2017 USDA-TX- Dept of Ag Market New Amarillo Livestock Auction – Amarillo, TX Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 10/09/2017 Receipts: 862 Last Week: 1033 Year Ago: 928 Compared to last week: Comparable sales of feeder heifers sold steady; feeder steers were not well tested. Trade activity was moderate on moderate to good demand. The area has had a chance to dry out some over the weekend and cold temperatures kicked off the week. Slaughter cows and bulls sold 1.00 to 3.00 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 8 percent, 3 percent replacements, and 89 percent feeders. Feeder supply consisted of 56 percent steers and bulls, 44 percent heifers. Approximately 44 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
