AM_LS750 Amarillo, TX Tue Oct 3, 2017 USDA-TX- Dept of Ag Market New Amarillo Livestock Auction – Amarillo, TX Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 10/02/2017 Receipts: 1033 Last Week: 522 Year Ago: 928 Compared to last week: Not enough comparable sales of feeder steers and heifers for a market trend. Trade activity and demand were moderate. Most of the auction's receipts were advertised replacement cow sale. Slaughter cows sold steady on a light test. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 10 percent, 22 percent replacements, and 68 percent feeders. Feeder supply consisted of 46 percent steers and bulls, 54 percent heifers. Near 50 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
