Collins, CO Sheep and Goat Report for Wednesday October 18, 2017 Total Receipts: 2324 Last Week: 1864 Year Ago: 1136 Sheep Receipts: 1686 Last Week: 1119 Year Ago: 378 Goat Receipts: 638 Last Week: 745 Year Ago: 758 Compared to last week: Slaughter lambs were sharply lower. Feeder lambs were sharply lower. Slaughter ewes were sharply higher and slaughter bucks were 1.00 to 5.00 lower. In goats, slaughter kids were unevenly steady, while slaughter nannies were mostly steady. Slaughter billies were sharply lower and wethers were unevenly steady. Trade activity and buyer demand was moderate to good. The sheep supply consisted of approximately 25 percent slaughter lambs and 20 percent feeder lambs with the balance being slaughter ewes and bucks. The goat supply consisted of approximately 45 percent slaughter kids, 30 percent slaughter nannies/does with the balance being slaughter billies and wethers. Sheep and lambs sold on a per cwt basis and goats sold on a per head basis unless otherwise noted.
