Collins, CO Sheep and Goat Report for Wednesday October 11, 2017 Total Receipts: 1864 Last Week: 1428 Year Ago: 2227 Sheep Receipts: 1119 Last Week: 836 Year Ago: 1098 Goat Receipts: 745 Last Week: 592 Year Ago: 1129 Compared to last week: Slaughter lambs were steady to sharply higher. Feeder lambs were mostly steady. Slaughter ewes were sharply higher and slaughter bucks were 3.00 to 7.00 higher. In goats, slaughter kids were unevenly steady, while slaughter nannies were mostly steady. Slaughter billies were steady to sharply lower and wethers were steady to sharply higher. Trade activity and buyer demand was moderate to good. The sheep supply consisted of approximately 30 percent slaughter lambs and 12 percent feeder lambs with the balance being slaughter ewes and bucks. The goat supply consisted of approximately 50 percent slaughter kids, 20 percent slaughter nannies/does with the balance being slaughter billies and wethers. Sheep and lambs sold on a per cwt basis and goats sold on a per head basis unless otherwise noted.
