Collins, CO Sheep and Goat Report for Wednesday October 4, 2017 Total Receipts: 1428 Last Week: 3511 Year Ago: 2987 Sheep Receipts: 836 Last Week: 2460 Year Ago: 2140 Goat Receipts: 592 Last Week: 1051 Year Ago: 847 Compared to last week: Slaughter lambs were unevenly steady. Feeder lambs were 10.00 to sharply higher. Slaughter ewes were 3.00-10.00 lower and slaughter bucks were mostly steady. In goats, slaughter kids were unevenly steady, while slaughter nannies were 5.00-20.00 higher. Slaughter billies were steady to sharply lower and wethers were steady to 10.00 higher. Trade activity and buyer demand was moderate to good. The sheep supply consisted of approximately 32 percent slaughter lambs and 15 percent feeder lambs with the balance being slaughter ewes and bucks. The goat supply consisted of approximately 70 percent slaughter kids, 22 percent slaughter nannies/does with the balance being slaughter billies and wethers. Sheep and lambs sold on a per cwt basis and goats sold on a per head basis unless otherwise noted.
