KO_LS757 Oklahoma City, OK Thu Oct 12, 2017 USDA-OK Dept of Ag Market News Southern Oklahoma Livestock Auction Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 10/11/2017 and Cow and Bull Report for 10/12/2017 Total Receipts: 3,222 Last Week: 2,885 Year Ago: 2,260 Compared to last week: Steer and heifer calves mostly 4.00-6.00 higher. Demand was good for all classes but continues better for long-weaned calves. Much cooler weather has moved into the state but warmers temperatures are forecast for the coming days. Wheat planting is well behind average but recent moisture should benefit early planted acres. Heifers made up 42 percent and weights over 600 lbs 24 percent of supply. Slaughter cows and bulls steady. Packer demand moderate. A total of 542 cows and bulls sold with 43 percent going to packers. 500 to 600 cows and bulls expected for Thursday's sale.
