KO_LS757 Oklahoma City, OK Thu Oct 5, 2017 USDA-OK Dept of Ag Market News Southern Oklahoma Livestock Auction Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 10/04/2017 and Cow and Bull Report for 10/05/2017 Total Receipts: 2,885 Last Week: 3,441 Year Ago: 1,704 Compared to last week: Weaned steer and heifer calves mostly steady. Unweaned and short weaned calves 2.00-4.00 lower. Overall quality plain to average and fleshy and short-weaned calves made up a large percentage of receipts. Demand was fairly good for long-weaned calves but light to moderate for unweaned cattle. Rains and much cooler temperatures increasiing problems for health issues in fleshy, unweaned calves. Heifers made up 44 percent and weights over 600 lbs. 34 percent of supply. Slaughter cows steady to 1.00 higher. Slaughter bulls steady in light test. Packer demand moderate. A total of 638 cows and bulls sold with 39 percent going to packers.
