JC_LS765 Jefferson City, MO Thu Oct 05, 2017 MO Dept of Ag/USDA Market News Vienna - South Central Regional Stockyards Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 10/04/2017 Receipts: 800 Week Ago: 465 Year Ago: 356 Compared to last Wednesday, feeder steers under 700 lbs 2.00-4.00 higher, over 700 lbs not well tested. Feeder heifers near 600 lbs 2.00-4.00 higher, other weights steady. Slaughter cows steady. Supply moderate. Near 9 percent of the offering were cows and 24 percent of the feeders were over 600 lbs. Feeder supply approximately 52 percent steers and bulls and 48 percent heifers. Several nice calves in town as some producers decided to cash in, likely at prices higher than they would have predicted after the train wreck last fall. Much needed rain has fallen in much of the area over the last 24 hours with more in the forecast.
