JC_LS764 Jefferson City, MO Tue Nov 07, 2017 MO Dept of Ag/USDA Market News Palmyra - F and T Livestock Auction Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 11/06/2017 Receipts: 1414 2 Weeks Ago: 464 Year Ago: 1120 Compared to the last tested auction from two weeks ago, steer calves under 600 lbs 5.00-15.00 higher, with feeder steers over 600 lbs and all weights of feeder heifers firm to mostly 5.00 higher. Slaughter cows 1.00-2.00 lower. A higher market for both calves and yearlings as the feeder prices have responded to the sharply higher fed cattle trade. The last two weeks have seen fed cattle prices jump by as much as 14.00. Demand was good and the supply moderate. Cows and bulls accounted for 11 percent of the run and feeders 89 percent. In the feeder supply, steers and bulls made up approximately 51 percent of the run; heifers 49 percent; steers and heifers over 600 lbs totaled around 41 percent.
