Cow and Bull Auction 10/11/17

Receipts:  805    Last Week:  731    Last Year:  620

   Compared to last Wednesday, slaughter cows sold steady to 4.00 higher.  
Slaughter bulls sold 2.00-4.00 higher.  The offering included a moderate supply 
of bred cows with most in the 2nd stage and a light supply of cow/calf pairs 
and 1st and 3rd stage bred cows.  Demand was moderate on all classes of 
livestock.   JRS regular monthly replacement cow and bull sale will be held 
this Saturday, October 14, 2017 beginning at 12:00 noon.  They are expecting 
650-700 head.

   Feeder/Stocker Cows: Medium and Large 1-2    1 1/2 - 3 yrs 640 -1240 lbs 
85.00-120.00, an outstanding group of 893 lbs black heifers traded at 124.00;  
3-7 yrs 945-1245 lbs  75.00-85.00.

   Bred Cows:  Medium and Large 1-2  2 yrs to short and solid mouth most 2nd 
few 3rd stage 940 -1512 lbs 1150.00-1425.00, 1st stage 875 -1135 lbs 950.00-
1035.00, short and solid mouth most 2nd and a few 3rd stage 1025-1320 lbs 
900.00-1110.00; Broken mouth and aged 2nd and 3rd stage 985-1560 lbs 725.00-
819.00.  Medium and Large 2  3-7 yrs 1st and  2nd stage  1075-1270 lbs  
825.00-1075.00; Medium 1-2   2-7 yrs 1st and 2nd stage 835.00-1210 lbs 
800.00-1150.00.

   Cow/calf pairs:  Medium and Large 1-2  3 yrs to short and solid mouth 1250-
1400 lb cows w/babies to 325 lb calves 1250.00-1375.00; Large 1-2  4 yrs 
to short and solid mouth 1400-1550 lbs cows w/babies 150-300 lbs 1400.00-
1750.00. Medium 1-2  2yr to Short and solid mouth   825-1145 lbs w/babies 
to 200 lb calves 950.00-1025.00 per pair.  Broken to aged 935-1085 lbs w/ 
babies to 250 lbs  825.00-1075.00 per pair
