Cow and Bull Auction 10/4/17

Receipts:  731    Last Week:  588    Last Year:  619

   Compared to last Wednesday, slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 higher
with most of the advance on early sales and slaughter bulls sold steady
with instances 1.00 lower. The offering included a moderate supply bred cows
with most in the 2nd stage and a light supply of cow/calf pairs. Supply and
demand were moderate for slaughter classes.
***Note: JRS will hold their monthly replacement cow and bull sale Saturday
October 14th beginning at 12 p.m. and are expecting 650 head.

most 82.50-111.00, few 115.00; 3-7 yrs 940-1305 lbs 67.00-76.00, couple
lots blacks 990-1005 lbs 105.00.

   Bred Cows:  Medium and Large 1-2  2 yrs to short and solid mouth most
2nd few 3rd stage 980-1345 lbs 1050.00-1250.00, 1st stage 960-1285 lbs
1000.00-1200.00; short and solid mouth most 2nd few 3rd stage 1090-1365 lbs
700.00-900.00; broken mouth to aged most 2nd few 3rd stage 1095-1245 lbs
615.00-750.00. Large 1-2  5-6 yrs 3rd stage 1565-1610 lbs 1300.00-1420.00;

   Cow/Calf Pairs:  Medium and Large 1-2  4 yrs to short and solid mouth
1200-1355 lb cows w/babies to 300 lb calves 1300.00-1500.00. Large 1-2  5 yrs
to short and solid mouth 1500-1575 lb cows w/295-375 lb calves and a few
rebred 1525.00-1600.00. Medium 1-2  2-6 yrs 750-1025 lb cows w/babies to 350
lb calves 1150.00-1300.00 per pair.
