June 22, 2017 (REPORT 25) OCEANIA INFORMATION GATHERED 06/12/2017 - 06/23/2017 U.S. DOLLARS PER METRIC TON, FOB PORT BUTTER: Oceania butter prices are higher, but below levels in Western Europe. Nevertheless, Oceania prices are at a 2016-2017 high. The continuing strength in demand and pricing for dairy fats keeps driving butter prices. This is expected to continue for the immediate future. Some Oceania observers also noted the "pull" factor that higher Western European prices are having on butter prices in Oceania. This year, January-April, Australia butter exports show a 35.5 percent decline from the same period one year earlier, according to Eucolait.
