Butter prices in the EU are slightly higher, even though the trend 
over recent weeks is weaker pricing. Butteroil pricing weakened. The 
slight firming in butter prices this week is viewed more as a 
reaction to spot factors and adjustment consistent with pricing in 
other global regions, than a trend reversal.  Ecolait reports that 
for February 2016 compared with February 2015, EU butter production 
increased 14.7%. 2016 EU butter exports through February compared 
with January-February 2015 increased 24.4%. During the first two 
months of 2016, the main destinations for EU butter exports and 
percentage of total butter exports for the period were: Saudi Arabia 
11.7%; USA 10.8%; and Egypt 8.0%.
