The higher prices are an indication that the market is firming. Cream is tight as farm level outputs, along with components, are dropping. Demand is increasing for butter as the holidays near. Export demand remains strong. PSA butter stock levels on September 6 were 103,576 MT. The top three countries, the Netherlands, Ireland and Germany, accounted for 69% of the holdings. According to GTIS, YTD through July EU butter exports are 16.4% above year ago levels.
