MD_DA811 DA MD DA811 Cheese - Foreign Type MADISON, WI. March 30, 2016 (REPORT 13) FOREIGN TYPE CHEESE Cheese production in the EU is higher than during recent months, particularly in Germany. Warehouse stocks and aging stocks are increasing. EU domestic consumption and exports are not increasing commensurate with production increases. This is pressuring prices lower for sales within the EU and for exported cheese. As for pricing of foreign type cheese in the U.S., wholesale imported blue, gorgonzola, sardo romano and reggianito declined $.15 at the top of range prices. Wholesale domestic blue, gorgonzola, parmesan and Romano cheese prices increased $0.0025 following the higher weekly average CME Group block price, while the remaining prices are unchanged.
