MD_DA431 DA MD DA431 BUTTER - CENTRAL MADISON, WI. November 10, 2015 (Report 45) CENTRAL BUTTER Cream availability for butter production in the Central region is steady to somewhat tighter. Some churn operators indicate they could use higher cream volumes to maximize butter production for fulfilling current bulk and retail orders, as well as replenishing inventories. Retail and food service orders remain strong. Bulk butter prices range from 4 cents under to 7 cents over the market, based on CME Group prices and various indices. The DMN National Dairy Retail Report for November 6-12 noted the national weighted average advertised price for a 1 pound package of butter was $3.08, down $0.43 from a week ago, and $0.74 lower than a year ago. The weighted average price in the Midwest region was $2.79, and in the South Central region, $2.57. The CME Group Grade AA butter market closed Tuesday at $2.8850.
