MD_DA431 DA MD DA431 BUTTER - CENTRAL MADISON, WI. June 10, 2015 (Report 23) CENTRAL BUTTER Butter production is steady to lower this week. Demand is uneven. Some contacts report an increase in retail sales due to promotions in June and July. Other manufacturers are reporting that sales are down but they are able to make and store butter for future needs. Inventory levels are comfortable for most manufacturers. Cream supplies are tighter as the heat sets in and decreases components. Bulk butter prices are at market to 5 cents over the market, based on the CME Group and various indices. According to the DMN National Retail Report- Dairy, for June 5-11, the national weighted average advertised price for a 1 pound package of butter price is $3.05, a 13 cent decrease from last week and 9 cents lower than a year ago. The average weighted price in the Midwest is $2.08, with a range of $1.97-2.50.
