January 14, 2015 (Report 2) CENTRAL BUTTER Cream continues to be readily available within and from other regions at advantageous pricing for butter churn operators. A few manufacturers elected to sell some cream spot loads. Butter production remains strong with some plants running full schedules. Print sales have slowed, but continue at levels that are limiting stock building. Export orders are picking up. The market tone is steady. Bulk butter is moving in and out of the region as prices are ranging from market to 6 cents over the market, with various time frames and averages used. Wednesday at the CME Group, Grade AA butter closed at $1.5425, up $0.0025 from last Wednesday. This week, a cooperative export assistance program accepted requests for 11.7 million pounds of butter.
