The market tone remains steady this week. Cheese production is mostly steady to higher as milk supplies in the West slowly increase. Cheese stocks are building. Export demand is low but starting to pick up. According to National Retail Report- Dairy, the average national price for a 1 pound block of cheese was $3.95, $.21 above last week. The U.S. average advertised price in the Southwest was $5.49. Cheese prices at the CME Group on Wednesday had barrels closing at $1.4425. This is a $.1025 slide from last Wednesday. Blocks closed at $1.4700, a $.1000 decline from a week ago.
