WHEY PROTEIN CONCENTRATE 34% - CENTRAL AND WEST                         

Whey protein concentrate 34% prices moved higher at the bottom of both the 
range and mostly price series this week. Inventories are committed and 
tight. Demand is a little quiet outside of contracts. Industry contacts 
say most of their sales for highly desired WPC34% are contracted. In some 
cases, manufacturers are able to be picky on how to offer remaining 
stocks. There are a few pockets of opportunities for WPC34% that allow 
processors to ask for prices at the top end of the price range. A few 
price-sensitive buyers are substituting nonfat dry milk for WPC34% for 
some applications. The awareness of weak NDM prices is also placing 
pressure on WPC34% prices.
