WHEY PROTEIN CONCENTRATE - CENTRAL AND WEST                             

Between the winter holidays, whey protein concentrate 34% prices held 
mostly steady. A few spot purchases of brand specific WPC34% pushed the 
upper end of the range price series higher. Brokers are actively searching 
out supplies. A few processors have shifted production away from WPC34% to 
higher protein concentrations. This change may reduce overall production 
and balance supply with demand. Some manufacturers note their inventories 
are tightening.
