A few spot sales stretched the ends of the price range further apart. Industry contacts report a wide range of prices offered and accepted for sales due to the variation of markets, product characteristics and end users' preferences. Interest from buyers has been good with a few end users trying to establish agreements through June 2016. In some cases, buyers are looking to purchase at prices below market. Manufacturers report inventories have become tighter and more committed. A few processors say they are willing to hold back inventory for Q1 sales. The market tone remains unsettled. Heavy cheese production continues to place pressures on the whey protein complex, forcing manufacturers to determine the most economical use of the whey stream. F.O.B.
