MD_DA710 DA MD DA710 Dry Whole Milk - National MADISON, WI. November 10, 2016 (REPORT 45) DRY WHOLE MILK - NATIONAL National dry whole milk f.o.b. spot prices are steady on light trading. The domestic market undertone is mixed throughout the country. The prices of whole milk powder are firming internationally, mainly due to the high demand from China. However, prices in the United States have not been affected, yet. The current competitive domestic pricing could represent an export opportunity. Production is irregular, mostly based on contractual requirements. Inventories vary from plant to plant. The October 2016 Dairy Market News monthly average for the National price series for dry whole milk is $1.3365 compared to $1.2867 a year ago. The NASS Dairy Products report noted U.S. dry whole milk production during September 2016 totaled 6.9 million pounds, 64.0 percent higher than a year ago. Total U.S. dry whole milk month-ending stocks for September were 13.5 million pounds, 43.8 percent above last year. F.O.B.
