F.O.B. spot prices for national dry whole milk are steady to 
higher. The top of the pricing range shifted up due to some spot 
trading activity in the East. Demands from the bakery and 
confectionary sectors are active as the fall baking season 
approaches. The market undertone continues to be firmer in the 
East, but unsettled in the West and Central regions. Dry whole 
milk production is sporadic, dictated by contractual 
requirements. Inventories are tight in most regions.
