Prices for dry whole milk continue to be mixed. Some f.o.b. spot 
sales pulled sharply higher the top of the range. According to 
some manufacturers, interest from the confectionery sector is 
active as Mother's Day is approaching. On the other hand, there 
are some processors offering supplies at 2 to 3 cents under the 
market, trying to clear inventories. At this point, the market 
tone is unsettled. Dry whole milk manufacturing is sporadic, 
driven by contractual requirements. Inventories vary from plant 
to plant. This week, a cooperative export assistance program 
accepted requests for 132,277 pounds of dry whole milk.
