DRY WHOLE MILK - NATIONAL                                        
                                                                 
Prices for dry whole milk are mixed. Some spot sales pushed the 
top of the range down sharply. According to some industry 
participants, some manufacturers are offering supplies at lower 
prices, trying to clear inventories. At this point, the market 
undertone is weak. Production is irregular, mostly based on 
contractual needs. Inventories vary from plant to plant. This 
week, a cooperative export assistance program accepted requests 
for 3.948 million pounds of dry whole milk.
