Sales in the f.o.b. spot market are slow. At this point, demand for dry whole milk is light. However some processors anticipate an uptick in demand during the upcoming spring baking/confectionary seasons. Production is intermittent, determined by the current contractual needs. Inventories are mixed. The February 2016 Dairy Market News monthly average for the National price series for dry whole milk is $1.2812 compared to $1.3995 a year ago. DAIRY PRODUCTS: According to NASS, U.S. production of dry whole milk during January 2016 totaled 9.9 million pounds, 60.3% higher than a year ago and 2.9% above the previous month. F.O.B.
