April 09, 2015 (REPORT 14) DRY WHOLE MILK - NATIONAL Prices for dry whole milk are lower on the bottom of the range, but unchanged on the top on a lightly traded market. Contract sales cover the majority of transactions for the week. The wide range of prices represents producers trying to lighten inventories and buyers taking scheduled loads on specific brands. Production is light as dryer schedules are more actively devoted to NDM production. The March 2015 Dairy Market News average of the price series for dry whole milk was $1.3950, compared to $2.1538 one year ago. DAIRY PRODUCTS: NASS reports U.S. dry whole milk production during February 2015 totaled 10.5 million pounds, 20.7% higher than one year ago. Cumulative 2015 production totals 16.7 million pounds, a 16.3% increase compared to 2014. Month ending stocks, at 17.4 million pounds, are 89.3% higher than stocks of one year ago. F.O.B.
