MD_DA710 DA MD DA710 Dry Whole Milk - National MADISON, WI. January 08, 2015 (REPORT 1) DRY WHOLE MILK - NATIONAL Dry whole milk prices held steady on light trading. End users remain hesitant to commit to lengthy contracts, especially since this market has been slow to show the effects of recent declines in dairy protein and butterfat. Production is limited, with some manufacturers now switching to a made-to-order basis. Inventories are higher than needed to fulfill nearby contract volumes at other locations. The December 2014 Dairy Market News average of the price series for dry whole milk was $1.5430, compared to $2.0667 one year ago. DAIRY PRODUCTS: NASS reports U.S. dry whole milk production during November 2014 totaled 7.1 million pounds, 28.1% higher than one year ago. Cumulative 2014 production totals 95.4 million pounds, a 42.5% increase compared to 2013. Month ending stocks, at 21.8 million pounds, are 151.1% higher than stocks of one year ago. F.O.B.
