MD_DA640 DA MD DA640 Nonfat Dry Milk - West MADISON, WI. September 14, 2017 (REPORT 37) NONFAT DRY MILK - WEST In the West, prices for low/medium heat nonfat dry milk (NDM) are lower at both the bottom of the range and the bottom of the mostly price series. Stocks are up. Most end-users/buyers are only purchasing NDM as needed. NDM is flowing well to Mexico, but the Mexican market is mostly interested in lower priced NDM. Competition with the European skim milk powder remains intense. The market undertone is unsettled as prospective buyers and sellers are not confident in their current positions. Contacts suggest that some processors are getting ready for their next year contracts. Prices for high heat nonfat dry milk are steady on the range. The market undertone continues to be firm. Inventories are tight with sporadic spot market activity. Production is mostly limited to contractual needs. F.O.B.
