Production rates are unchanged as seasonal cheese output, this week, matches the previous week. Some end users have closed the books on 2016 dry whey purchases. Inventories are sufficient for near-term needs. The market undertone is firm with most supplies committed. The November 2016 Dairy Market News monthly average for Northeast dry whey was $0.3828 compared to $0.2271 one year ago. DAIRY PRODUCTS: According to NASS, October 2016 U.S. human food dry whey production totaled 81.9 million pounds, 8.5% more than a year ago and 9.4% more than the previous month. The Atlantic region's production of human food dry whey in October 2016 totaled 21.0 million pounds, 1.6% less than a year ago, but 0.8% less than last month. F.O.B.
