DRY WHEY - WEST                                                  

Western whey prices are mostly steady this week. The bottom end of the 
range price series came up a little. Manufacturers report inventories are 
tight and they can be a little choosier on bids accepted. Some processors 
say their production, inventories, and demand are better balanced than 
they were in the last half of 2015. Production is steady and volumes of 
dry whey are clearing mostly through regular contracts. A few industry 
contacts report blocks of export sales have developed this week.
