Manufacturers are filling supply contracts but spot demand is light. Most buyers are only buying for current needs as they take a wait-and-see approach on pricing. Manufacturers indicated they are running into pricing pressure from the resale market. Some end users are reluctant to finalize purchases at current pricing. According to NASS Dairy Products, in December the Central region produced 36.1 million pounds of human dry whey, up 2.6% from a year ago. ANIMAL FEED WHEY prices are steady.
